The existing house had a very small kitchen and dining area. The Client wanted to extend to attain a more usable space.

Working closely with the Conservation Planning Team, a sympathetic traditional extension was designed that would mirror an adjacent existing extension and bring back the appearance of symmetry to the house in the courtyard area.

Reclaimed stone walling and stone window surround detailing to closely match the existing.

Traditional timber sliding sash windows to complement the period and existing house windows.

Design Summary:

As Architect for this Single Storey extension in Leeds, we enjoyed working through the challenges of this Grade II listed building.

It makes the interior now function to modern day standards with a lovely open plan kitchen / diner that respects the old character and importance of the listed building.
